Last month, FGE (a division of FCE) was recognised for its work on the new New Horizons Energy project in Athlone, Cape Town.  Together with its client, sub-consultants and sub-contractors, it was given first place at the prestigious SAICE annual awards in the Western Cape.
Each year, SAICE chooses from a number of different projects around the country and awards them for outstanding civil engineering achievement for technical excellence. Qualifying projects should demonstrate ingenuity, successfully manage challenges and, among many other attributes, display the art and science of the civil engineering discipline.
As the EPC contractor on this project, FGE is proud to be recognised for its part in the future of renewable energy in South Africa as well as for the civil-engineering profession as a whole. FGE would like to take the opportunity to thank SAICE for the award and its contracting partners for the inclusion in such a prestigious event.
FGE looks forward to working its fellow contractors on additional projects such as these, where innovation and technology in civil engineering lead to a greener and sustainable future.
